EASTON, Mass. - The University of New Haven Men's Soccer team dropped a heartbreaker, 2-1 in the second overtime against Stonehill College on Saturday afternoon.
The Chargers and Skyhawks held each other scoreless for the first half andÂ

New Haven came out strong to start the second half after
George Tighe (Tauranga, New Zealand/Tauranga Boys College)'s shot led to a corner kick. The Chargers capitalized off the corner when sophomore
Pablo Perez (Medellin, Columbia/West Haven) headed a pass from
Mason Rivera (Preston, Conn./Norwich Free Academy)Â that found the back of the net. Stonehill's Ryan Chieffo sent home the game tying goal on a one time shot in the 71
st minute. Around 60 seconds seconds later, sophomore
Nate Peduzzi (Old Lyme, Conn./Lyme-Old Lyme) had the opportunity to take the lead, but his shot hit the left post to keep the score level.Â
Stonehill had a few opportunities to end the game in the first overtime period, but sophomore goalkeeper
Stefano Lorusso (Auckland, New Zealand/Sacred Heart College) stayed strong and made two of his 10 saves to keep the Chargers alive. In the second overtime period,
Brian Rebelo (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) just missed his shot wide, but Stonehill's Adam Branco beat a defender on the other side and sent home the game-winning goal.
