UNDEFEATED!! Women's Volleyball Closes Out NE10 Regular Season, 14-0

MANCHESTER, N.H.- The University of New Haven Women's Volleyball team closed out the regular season undefeated in Northeast-10 Conference play with a 3-1 win over Saint Anselm on Saturday afternoon. Leading the way for the Chargers was freshman Kali Greathead (Temecula, Calif./Temecula Valley) who had a double-double with 21 kills and 16 digs and a .559 hitting percentage.With the victory, the Chargers secured their eighth NE10 regular season title and their seventh undefeated regular season record since joining the league in 2008. 

Behind Greathead was senior Caroline Martins (Tres Pontas, Brazil) with 14 kills and six digs, junior Kristine Rios (Miami, Fla./Coral Reef) with eight kills, and senior Alex Bussey (Atlanta, Ga./Pace Academy) with seven kills. Rios led the team with 31 assists, followed by graduate student Annika Hacker (Bayreuth, Germany/Littleton (Colo.)) who had 20 assists and freshman Angela Chan (Jacksonville, Fla./Bishop Kenny) who added five assists.

Leading the Chargers defensively was junior Lindsey Kim (Rye Brook, N.Y./Blind Brook) with 32 digs. Rios had eight digs followed by Bussey and Hacker who each added four digs. The team had a combined three service aces on the afternoon as junior Brianna Mirmina (Bethany, Conn./Amity Regional), Rios and Greathead each had one.

The Blue and Gold finished the regular season with an overall record of 20-7 and a perfect 14-0 NE10 Conference record. The Chargers will host Pace University at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening for the NE10 quarterfinal round. The NE10 semifinal and championship games will be hosted by the highest remaining seed next Friday and Saturday.
