HIGHLIGHTS

·         Le Moyne came out of the gates and put New Haven in a 5-0 deficit over the first 15 minutes that the Chargers were unable to recover from. Captain's Kendall Cietek (Guilderland, N.Y./Guilderland) and Caitlin O'Brien (Branford, Conn./Branford) put a stop to that early Dolphins run when they went back-to-back for the Chargers first two points of the day. Cietek's goal came on a free position attempt, while she would provide O'Brien with a pass that led to the second goal of the afternoon.

·         Freshman Hailey Rattigan (Hicksville, N.Y./Holy Trinity) would convert a free position attempt inside of seven minutes remaining in the opening half before Le Moyne closed out the stanza scoring the final four goals to take an 11-3 lead into the intermission.

·         Coming out of the break, the Chargers would strike first with O'Brien connecting on her second of the game, which was also the 100th of her career. This time around she connected with junior Jessica Mazliah (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) who registered her first of two helpers on the day.

·         After surrendering two more goals to the Dolphins over the next 2:30, New Haven's offense kicked into gear scoring six straight to cut the deficit to three, 13-10. O'Brien would score the first in that stretch, breaking what was the largest deficit of the day for New Haven.

·         Following O'Brien's third of the day, freshman midfielder Zoe Wilkins (Watchung, N.J./Mount Saint Mary Academy) scored her first in a Blue and Gold uniform as she went end to end for the tally.

·         Cietek would then net two straight goals, the first off a free position and the second unassisted, both coming in less than a minute span.

·         Samantha Galler (Marshfield, Mass./Marshfield) provided the fifth goal in the run as she connected with Mazliah who provided her second assist of the day. Mazliah would then be rewarded just over three minutes later when she took a pass from Nicole Belanger (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) and fired into an open net as the goalkeeper had come out to play Mazliah. That score was the final in the run for New Haven and pulled them within three for the first time since five minutes into the action.  Overall, the Chargers six goal run came in just over 10 minutes of action

·         The Chargers then answered the run breaking man-up goal by the Dolphins with their final score of the day as Cietek secured her fourth goal unassisted with 12:21 remaining. That goal would prove to be the last for either team.
