WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven Chargers field hockey team fell to the Limestone Saints this afternoon by a score of 8-0 in a non-conference contest at DellaCamera Stadium.
The Chargers faced a tough offense from Limestone but did not give in. Freshman goalkeeper
Natalie Shaker (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) had 28 saves on the day.
The Blue and Gold saw three shots during the contest. Sophomore forward
Irkania Coronado (Lawrence, Mass./Lawrence) had one shot on goal, and freshman midfielder
Shelby Card (Milanville, Pa./Honesdale) recorded two shots for the Chargers, one of them on goal. The offense had another opportunity with an offensive corner, but could not get the shot off as the ball was intercepted by the Saints.
The Chargers will return to action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to take on the Stonehill Skyhawks. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at W.B. Mason Stadium. For fans who are unable to attend the contest, live stats will be available on www.StonehillSkyhawks.com.
