NORTH EASTON, Mass. – The University of New Haven field hockey team dropped a 12-0 decision on the road at No. 10 Stonehill on Sunday at W.B. Mason Stadium.
Freshman goalkeeper Natalie Shaker (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) faced a total of 44 shots from the Skyhawks with 31 of those marked on goal. Overall, the rookie net minder made 19 saves.
New Haven, who didn't register a shot against the top-10 opponent, looked to have an opportunity late in the contest when awarded a free hit from just outside its scoring arc. The Skyhawks defense wouldn't give in, thwarting the advancing opportunity from New Haven's Maecy Chlebowski (Matamoras, Pa./Delaware Valley).
The Chargers will return to action on Saturday, September 23 when they travel to Springfield, Mass. for an NE10 match-up against American International. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m. at Abdow Field. Fans who are unable to attend the contest cane find links for live video and live stats at NewHavenChargers.com.
