WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven field hockey team fell to #7 Pace University 6-0 under the lights at DellaCamera Stadium on Thursday evening.
The Chargers stood tall throughout the game as they kept the Setters out of the cage until the 20
th minute of the first half. During the second half, the defense held Pace to only seven shots and three penalty corners. Freshman goalkeeper
Natalie Shaker (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) made 13 saves in goal on the night.
Offensively, the Chargers had opportunities on two penalty corners but could not capitalize on them. Sophomore defender
Ashley Higgins (Hatfield, Mass./Smith Academy) had one shot off of a penalty corner.
The Chargers return to DellaCamera Stadium on Wednesday October 4 when they host the Adelphi Panthers. The game is slated to start at 7:00 p.m. For fans who are unable to attend the game live stats and video will be available on Charger Sports Network.
