Men's Soccer Drops NE10 Matchup at Southern New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The University of New Haven men's soccer team continued Northeast-10 action on Tuesday evening at Penmen Stadium, but was overpowered by Southern New Hampshire, 6-0.

New Haven had 13 total shots on the evening, 10 of which were on target, including eight in the second half. Graduate student Kledis Capollari (Pogradec, Albania/Guilderland) led the way with four shots on goal, while junior Pablo Perez-Gomez (Medellin, Columbia/West Haven) and sophomore Estanislao Desseno (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Saint Patrick College) each had two. Junior Stefano Lorusso (Auckland, New Zealand/Sacred Heart College) made 10 stops in goal.

Southern New Hampshire got on the scoreboard in just the seventh minute of action as Alex Satrustegui placed a shot inside the far post for the early 1-0 lead. After the remainder of the first half and first seven minutes of the second frame went scoreless, Satrustegui added his nation-leading 19th goal of the season in the 57th minute before the Penmen exploded for four more goals in the second half to pull away.

The Blue and Gold returns to action on Sunday, October 14 at the Bentley Soccer Field in Waltham Massachusetts. Match time against the Falcons is slated for 1:00 pm.
