WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven women's tennis fell to Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday 6-1, as they fall to 6-5 on the year (5-5 NE10).
Freshman
Kacie Banks (Marietta, Ga./Marietta) earned the lone victory on the day for the Chargers, winning her match 6-2, 6-2 at fourth singles.
New Haven had a pair of closely contested singles matches on the afternoon, with junior
Stephanie Gonzalez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina) fighting hard, but falling 3-6, 6-7 at first singles. Freshman
Alexa Orlando (Frederick, Md./Middletown) went three sets with her opponent, but fell 6-1, 6-7, 3-10 at sixth singles.

New Haven will return to action Sunday morning when they host Roberts Wesleyan at 10 a.m. where the team will also honor its departing seniors,
Angela Mercurio (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) and
Shelby Clyne (Islip Terrace, N.Y./East Islip)
