Field Hockey Drops 4-1 Match at Stonehill

EASTON, Mass. – A late goal from sophomore Taylor Geaglone (Enfield, Conn./Enfield) provided a spark for the Chargers offense in a 4-1 loss at Stonehill on Wednesday. Freshman Anna Racine (Whiteford, Md./North Hartford) assisted on the goal and junior Natalie Shaker (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) made 17 saves in the game, her second-highest total of the season.

The Skyhawks (8-5, 8-3 NE10) held a 9-6 edge in penalty corners while taking 28 total shots.

Stonehill registered the lone goal of the opening half, striking quickly in the opening moments when Madi Weber scored early in the fourth minute. The Skyhawks then pulled away with three quick goals within the first 6:06 of the third quarter, including a pair from Olivia Cameron to help Stonehill build a 4-0 lead by the 37th minute.

Geaglone had a shot attempt blocked late in the third quarter, but converted in the 57th minute off a penalty corner. Racine fed the pass off the corner, which Geaglone drove in from the top of the arc for her second goal of the season.

The Chargers will hit the road for the final time in the regular season on Tuesday with a trip to Pace at 4 p.m.
