WEST HAVEN, Conn. – With the match in jeopardy, junior Angela Mercurio (Bay Shore, N.Y./Islip) came up clutch, coming from a set down to defeat Natalia Krol at third singles to clinch a 4-3 victory over the visiting SUNY Geneseo Knights on Sunday afternoon at the New Haven Tennis Courts.
Merecurio was one of three Chargers to finish with a pair of victories on the day, joining junior Shelby Clyne (Islip Terrace, N.Y./East Islip) to secure one of two victories in doubles as the Chargers earned the doubles point.
