Waltham, Mass. – The New Haven Women's soccer dropped a 3-1 conference decision against Bentley on the road. The Chargers lone goal for the day came from senior
Sorcha Ni Bhraonain (Galway, Ireland/Colaiste Cholmcille) who net her first career tally in the game.
Bentley's offense came out firing in the first half, taking 18 total shots and forcing keeper
Paige Davis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) to make seven saves. In the 32
nd minute the Falcons were able to touch a goal to break the scoreless stalemate.
Coming into the second half the Chargers came out fighting. New Haven was awarded a penalty kick, that led to a free kick inside 20 yards where Ni Bhraonain took advantage recording her first career goal as a Charger. Ni Bhraonain has been a main player for the Chargers taking the free kicks and recorded assists as a defender. That game tying goal came in the 58
th minute.
The Falcons offense wouldn't let down, answering with an additional two goals to take their first conference win, 3-1. For the game, Bentley totaled 27 shots, with 12 on goal. Davis tallied a total of nine saves.
