EASTON, Mass. – Women's tennis fell to defending Northeast-10 conference champion Stonehill Thursday afternoon 7-0.
The first doubles pairing of Lilia Rodriguez (Bayamon, Puerto Rico/Colegio Marista) and Kacie Banks (Marietta, Ga./Marietta) fought a closely contested match, losing 7-5. Banks also went three sets in her No. 4 singles match, winning the first set 7-5 before dropping the next two 3-6, 6-10.
Freshman Alexa Orlando (Frederick, Md./Middletown) also fought hard in her first collegiate contest going to a tie break in the first set at No. 5 singles, falling 6-7 (7-9) before losing the second set 3-6.
The Chargers will return to action in less than 24 hours when the take the short trip to Post to take on the Eagles at 4:00 pm.
