OPENING TIP
New Haven will kick off a two-game road trip on Saturday with a visit to Worcester to take on Assumption.
 
The matchup will pit two of the top defensive teams in the Northeast-10 against each other, with New Haven allowing a conference-low 52.8 points per game, while Assumption comes in fourth at 58.8 points allowed per game.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-   New Haven is 10-25 all-time against Assumption. The teams have split the last six matchups in the series dating back to 2015. The Chargers took last year's matchup 60-47 in West Haven.

SCOUTING NEW HAVEN
-   The Chargers have dropped their last two games overall after having their 11-game home court winning streak snapped on Wednesday against Saint Anselm. The Chargers put forth a 1-1 effort last week with a 53-40 upset win over then-No. 19 Bentley on Jan. 14, before falling 63-45 at Stonehill last Saturday.
 
-   New Haven has ridden its defense to a 12-5 start to the season. The Chargers lead the NE10 and rank 10th nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 52.8 points per game. The Chargers also lead the conference in FG% defense (.338) and rank third in holding the opposition to just .285 percent from three-point range.
 
-   Offensively, the Chargers are averaging 58.7 points per game, good for 13th in the NE10.
 
-   The Chargers have climbed to sixth in the conference by shooting 42.5 percent overall and are shooting 30.7 percent from the arc, which sits 10th in the NE10.
 
SCOUTING ASSUMPTION
-   Coming into the weekend at 9-9 overall, the Greyhounds have dropped five straight games, all in NE10 play. The Hounds have scored an average of 52.6 points per game over that stretch.
 
-   Assumption has scored 65.3 points in their three NE10 wins against Southern N.H., Franklin Pierce and Saint Michael's,
 
-    Assumption is 11th in the NE10 with 59.5 points per game, and comes in fourth in scoring defense at 58.8 ppg.
 
-     Forward Temi Falayi ranks third in the NE10 with 10.2 rebounds per game, is the team's second-leading scorer (7.8 ppg), and leads the squad in both blocks (25) and steals (25).
 
-   Senior Brianna Capacchione leads the Hounds with 13.4 points per game and is second in both rebounds (5.3 per game) and assists (28).
 
-   At 4.9 assists per game, Meghan Reen ranks fourth in the NE10.
