OPENING TIP
Winners of six of their last seven games, the New Haven women's basketball team will face a stiff test of Saturday when they host nationally-ranked No. 10 Adelphi on Senior Day and Alumnae Day.

The matchup pits Adelphi's offense, which ranks 15th in the nation in scoring at nearly 79 points per game, against the Chargers No.7 nationally-ranked scoring defense of 53.1 points per contest.

Pregame, the Chargers will honor their two-member senior class of 2020 in
Kim Talley (Quakertown, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) and
Micah Wormack (Cumberland, Md./Allegany).

INSIDE THE SERIES
- Â Â New Haven holds an all-time record of 25-21 against Adelphi, with the Panthers having won each of the last three matchups.

Back on January 4, the Chargers staged a massive second half comeback attempt before ultimately falling short in a 70-66 defeat to the then-15th ranked Panthers.
SCOUTING NEW HAVEN
-Â Â The Chargers have won six of their last seven games and will put their 11-1 home record on the line on Saturday when Adelphi comes to town. New Haven has won three straight at home and three in a row overall, having taken down American Int'l and Southern Conn. State last week.

-Â After starting the season 10-1, the second-best start through 11 games in program history, the Chargers are 8-6 over their last 14 games (4-1 at home / 4-5 on the road).

-Â Â New Haven's defense has been a consistent force all season for the Blue and Gold, leading the NE10 and ranking 7th in the nation in scoring defense at 53.1 points per game. The Chargers also lead the conference and rank 8th nationally in FG% defense (.331), and rank third in the NE10 by holding the opposition to just 28.9 percent from three-point range. The Chargers also sit 23rd in the nation in rebounding margin (+7.8).

-Â Â Offensively, the Chargers are averaging 57.6 points per game, good for 12th in the NE10.

SCOUTING ADELPHI
-Â Â At 24-2 overall and 15-2 in NE10 play, Adelphi is ranked No. 10 in the WBCA National Top 25 poll, and sixth in the D2SIDA rankings. The Panthers, who have clinched the No. 1 seed in the NE10 Southwest Division, are also the No. 1 team in the NCAA East Region.

-Â Â The Panthers started the season 16-0 before falling to Stonehill and Saint Anselm in back-to-back games in mid-January.

-Â Â Â Backed by four players who score in double figures, and six players that average at least nine points per game, the Panthers prolific offense scores a conference-leading 78.7 per game.

-Â Â Senior Leonie Edringer leads the team in scoring (15.5) and rebounding (9.7), while rankings eighth and third, respectively, in the NE10 in both categories.

-Â Â The Panthers rank ninth in the NE10 in field goal percentage (.399), but are second in 3FG% (35.3), and are eighth in the country with 9.6 makes per game from downtown. They also lead the NE10 with 17.8 assists per game, are also number one in rebounds (44.2) and offensive rebounds (15.7) per game.

-Â Â Katie Murphy leads the NE10 by shooting 48.2 percent from beyond the arc and is second in the NE10 with 6.5 assists per game.

MICAH'S MILESTONES
-Â Senior
Micah Wormack (Cumberland, Md./Allegany) became the 20th player in program history to score 1,000 points on Feb. 19 at SCSU. She also is just the 14th player all-time to score 1,000 career point and have 500 career rebounds.
Â
-Â Â Wormack also is third all-time on the school's career blocks list with 131. She is three away from tying Aquillan Hayes '15 for second all-time. The program record for career blocks is 246 held by Joy Jeter '89.

-Â Â Wormack is also fourth in program history with a .482 career field goal percentage. She finished last season with a .527 field goal percentage, which ranks ninth all-time in single season program history.

LOCKDOWN DEFENSE
The Chargers have allowed under 50 points in 12 games this season, including 40 points to then-No. 19 Bentley a season-low 35 points to Pace on Feb. 5. The Chargers are seventh in all of DII women's basketball in scoring defense by allowing just 53.1 ppg.
