WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The New Haven men's basketball team held Adelphi 20 points under their season average en route to a 67-61 victory to close out regular season conference play on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Chargers will take a 10-9 NE10 record into the postseason, securing one of five spots from the NE10 Southwest Division for the upcoming conference championship.

Leading the Chargers on the afternoon was senior Elijah Bailey (Freeport, N.Y./The Hotchkiss School) and sophomore Quashawn Lane (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic Academy) who each finished with a team-best 19 points. Bailey's 19 points came on a 7-of-17 shooting performance with a trio of those buckets from beyond the three point arc. Lane finished the game shooting 6-of-11 from the field with one three pointer while adding six points, in eight attempts, at the free throw line. Lane also led New Haven with four assists and a pair of steals.

Rounding out the leading scorers for New Haven was senior Kessly Felizor (Hightstown, N.J./Hightstown) who chipped in a baker's dozen 13 points and finished just shy of his eighth double double, hauling in nine rebounds, which led the Blue and Gold. Felizor closed out the game shooting 50 percent on 5-of-10 from the field including one three pointer while also dishing out a pair of assists.

Also among the leaders for New Haven was redshirt sophomore Ross Jones II (Edgewood, Md./Friends School) who finished with seven points, six of which came on a pair of three pointers, including a pull up three from well outside the arc as the shot clock expired.

As a team, New Haven shot 43.6 percent overall, 24-of-55, which included eight three point field goals. Among the 24 buckets were eight three pointers, while the Chargers outscored Adelphi at the line, connecting on 11-of-16 attempts while limiting the Panthers to just seven three throw attempts all game. New Haven also led the battle in points off turnovers, 11-4, while all 61 of the Panthers points came from their starting five while the Chargers collected 30 points from its bench players.

The Chargers will close out the regular season on Tuesday night as they welcome the Molloy Lions for a late season non-conference regional battle. Opening tip against the ECC foe is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
