WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Alexis Rider (Delran, N.J./Delran) scores Senior Day goal to lead the New Haven field hockey game as the Chargers dropped a 3-1 decision to the visiting No. 10 Bentley Falcons on Saturday afternoon. The goal for Rider was her fifth of the season as she now ties herself for the team lead with Abby Nixon (Wrentham, Mass./King Phillip Regional) and Sophie Schreck (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) as the Chargers fell to 8-8 overall and 8-4 in the Northeast-10.
Rider's goal came as an equalizer just inside the four minute mark as she connected with fellow senior Julia Battino (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial). That goal evened the score at one as the Falcons scored right out of the gate, just 37 seconds into the action. The Falcons would add the game winning goal in the 21st minute and an insurance goal in the 51st minute.
