MANCHESTER, N.H. – The University of New Haven field hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to the No. 6 Saint Anselm Hawks in its final regular season game on Friday afternoon. Despite the loss, the Chargers (9-9, 9-5 NE10) clinched one of eight positions in the upcoming NE10 Championship which will begin with first round action on Monday, November 1. Saint Anselm got on the board early, scoring just 2:04 into the action and never looked back. They Hawks added their insurance goal in the 37th minute while outshooting the Chargers 18-3 overall. New Haven graduate goalkeeper Keira Integlia (Branford, Conn./Branford) finished with 14 saves, her third game this season with double digit stops. The Hawks also held an 11-4 advantage in penalty corners.
Overall, the nine wins for New Haven are the most in the four-year program history, while the appearance in the NE10 tournament will be the first for a New Haven team.
