Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Late Goal from No. 3 Assumption Leads to Chargers First Conference Loss

WORCESTER, Mass. – The New Haven field hockey team's unbeaten record in Northeast-10 play is no more, dropping a 1-0 decision to the No. 3 Assumption Greyhounds on Sunday afternoon at Multi-Sport Stadium. The Chargers fall to 5-1 (5-5 overall) in the NE10 while the Greyhounds are the lone undefeated team remaining in the conference at 6-0.

Assumption waited until the final 93 seconds before putting the lone goal of the afternoon into the back of the cage, scoring off their seventh and final penalty corner of the afternoon, drilling a shot off the original insertion.

Overall, New Haven mustered just four shots on the afternoon with two of the four registered on goal. The two shots on goal came from senior Reilly Bialko (Shickshinny, Pa./Northwest Area), while classmate Taylor Geaglone (Enfield, Conn./Enfield) added the remaining two shots.

Assumption finished the day with 17 shots with graduate transfer goalkeeper Keira Integlia (Branford, Conn./Branford) making a season-high nine saves. The Greyhounds seven penalty corners also led New Haven who finished with four.

New Haven will remain on the road for its next game as they travel across town to take on rival Southern Connecticut State on Wednesday afternoon at Jess Dow Field. The NE10 match is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start with all of the action available live on NE10 NOW.
