The New Haven women's tennis team returns home for its next match Wednesday, hosting Adelphi. First serve from the New Haven Tennis Courts is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
SCOUTING THE CHARGERS (3-4, 3-3 NE10)
The Blue and Gold come into Wednesday looking to bounce back from a 4-0 loss to Le Moyne on Sunday. Junior Kacie Banks (Marietta, Ga./Marietta) will put her perfect 4-0 record in singles play on the line Tuesday, one of three players for the Chargers that remain undefeated after playing at least two solo matches. In the doubles round, graduate Ivana Andric (Griesheim, Germany) and freshman Olivia Martinelli (Coral Springs, Fla./Broward Virtual School) will look to remaining unbeaten as well, starting the year 3-0 as a tandem for New Haven.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS (5-2, 4-2Â NE10)
Adelphi comes into the match against the Chargers looking for back-to-back wins after sweeping Assumption 7-0 on Sunday. Carolina Chavez leads the team with six solo victories in nine matches, while Louisa Junghanns holds a 5-3 record in the  No. 1 singles position. The same three trios have locked down the doubles rounds in 2021, combining for 17 wins and just eight losses in 2-vs-2 play all year.
In singles, the anthers hold a .696 win percentage with 32 wins and 14 losses.
ANDRIC MAKES HISTORY AT ITA's
One of the top players for the Chargers, Andric was one of five players to compete at the ITA regionals in Queens, N.Y earlier this season, becoming the first player in program history to make it to the semi-final round of the annual tournament.
ANDRIC NAMED PROGRAMS FIRST ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA
Following the conclusion of the 2020-21 academic year, graduate Ivana Andric (Griesheim, Germany) was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team accolades in the at-large division. Andric, majoring in engineering and operations management, is the first women's tennis player to earn Academic All-America distinction in program history, while she is 20th player to earn the national academic accolade among all Charger teams.
