Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Keeping it Clean; Field Hockey Shuts Out Southern New Hampshire

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – For the fifth time this season, graduate keeper Keira Integlia (Branford, Conn./Branford) has posted a blank slate, shutting out the visiting Southern New Hampshire Penmen 2-0 on Saturday night under the lights at DellaCamera Stadium.

Integlia finished the game with four saves on the night, all of which came in the final 30 minutes as she faced a total of 16 shots from the Penmen with all but three of those shots coming in the second half.

Offensively, freshman Abby Nixon (Wrentham, Mass./King Phillip Regional) had a hand in both of the Blue and Gold goals as the Chargers capped off Homecoming with the victory. Nixon opened up the evening with a pass across the circle where senior Reilly Bialko (Shickshinny, Pa./Northwest Area) tapped it home for what would be the eventual game winning score in the fifth minute of action.

With just under eight minutes remaining before the half, Nixon would score one of her own as she hit the back of the cage with her shot that came off a rebound from an original shot by Alexis Rider (Delran, N.J./Delran).

With her goal and assist today, Nixon has now registered at least one point in three of the last four games.

New Haven returns to action with a second-straight home game on Tuesday night, again under the lights as they welcome the Saint Thomas Aquinas Spartans to town for a 7:00 p.m. start. All of the action will be available live on the Charger Sports Network on NE10 NOW.
