Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Blonde Scores First Collegiate-Career Goal at Franklin Pierce

How it Happened
New Haven Women's soccer dropped a 4-1 decision to Franklin Pierce on Saturday. The lone goal for the Blue and Gold was executed by junior, forward Madison Blonde (Rockland, Mass./Rockland). Prior to playing the Falcons, Blonde has been on the field for a total of 190 minutes this season with no goals or assists.

The Falcons were on the board first, with a goal in the 30th minute. But Blonde quickly responded with her first collegiate-career goal just two minutes after.

The score was locked 1-1 coming out of the half, but a limited five shots by the Chargers in the final 45 minutes of play prevented them from getting on the scoreboard in the second half. Franklin Pierce accumulated 12 shots in the second half contributing to a total of 28, leaving New Haven to be outshot by their opponent 28-10.

Dakota Cimetta (Coral Springs, Fla./J.P. Taravella) contributed two kicks towards the goal, Blonde sacrificed a kick on top of her goal. Ten kicks aimed at the net was not enough for New Haven to see past the Falcons.
