The Lead
Following an outstanding weekend in Staten Island, the Chargers start their season off 2-0. The last time New haven started their season in this way dates back to the 2011-12 season, Ted Hotaling's second season.

Inside the Series
Wednesday marks the 18th matchup between New Haven and Molloy, a series that dates back to 2003. In the previous 17 events, New Haven has walked away with ten victories. The last time these two met on the same court, it was Molloy who walked away with the seven-point win. Under Hotaling, the Chargers are 2-1 against the Lions and look to add another win to the column tomorrow.

Scouting the Lions (0-2, 0-0 ECC)
The Molloy Lions started their series the opposite of the Chargers, with two losses instead of victories. Pace University hosted the Conference Challenge where Molloy took on two NE10 schools. The Lions fell to two NE10 schools, Pace and Adelphi.

Against the host school, Molloy only had eight players in their rotation. Three of the them hit double-digits in scoring: William Muller, Darren Fergus, and Pierce Boczar. Mueller, junior, hit the game-high with 23 points.

The following game against Adelphi, Fergus had 20 points while dishing out five assists. However, the Lions shot better than Adelphi from the field, 49.2 percent. On the flip side from three-point territory only seven of the 19 shots attempted made their way through the net.

Scouting the Chargers (2-0, 0-0 NE10)
New Haven had ten players make their debut in blue and gold this past weekend. Against the host school, College of Staten Island, Davontrey Thomas's (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie) stellar performance helped the team earn their first victory.

Thomas recorded his third career double-double putting up 31 points, a new career high, and 10 rebounds. Featured in his performance was four baskets from three-point range and just one off from perfect at the free-throw line.

Against D'Youville the following day, Thomas hit five three-pointers in the first 20 minutes of action. Antonio Lopez (Medford, N.Y./St. Anthony's) also set a new career-high with 21 points and two steals. In the first half Lopez's dunk and three-point shot finished off a Charger 15-0 run. Their lead carried all the way through regulation ending 101-52.

When and Where
Before the New Haven suits up for their home opener against Pace on Nov. 23 they have two more games on the road, both in New York. Set for Wednesday Nov. 17 the Chargers visit Molloy with the tip set for 7:00 p.m.
