The University of New Haven Women's soccer team fell 4-0 when they ventured to Manchester, New Hampshire Tuesday afternoon. The Chargers now hold a 3-4 record, with no conference wins.
How it HappenedÂ
The Hawks offense opened up on an aggressive note, taking three shots on Paige Davis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) before scoring their first goal in the 13th minute. Less than five minutes later, Saint Anselm's Olivia Gotobed found the net for the second time.Â
The scoreboard read 3-0 in favor of the Hawks as halftime approached. In the first 45 minutes Davis saved six shots. New Haven only had one shot in the first half of play.Â
Madison Blonde (Rockland, Mass./Rockland) and Kaitlyn Price (Woodbridge, Conn./Amity Regional) led the Chargers with two shots each. Meghan Dellea (Haverhill, Mass./Haverhill) and Macy Litalien (Fitchburg, Mass./Oakmont Regional) each contributed a single shot.Â
Overall Saint Anselm outshot the Chargers 29-7. New Haven had two corner kicks to the Falcon's 13.
In the 74th minute the Hawks slipped a shot past Davis to conclude Tuesday's game with a final score 4-0.Â
