Setting Standards High: Antler Records Career-High Six Goals in 21-12 Victory Over the Lions

The New Haven Chargers bounced back after suffering a double-digit loss to No. 3 Adelphi. Cameryn Antler (Hebron, Conn./Mercy) helped pave the way for a win at home on a rainy night at Kathy Zolad Stadium.

How it Happened
Molloy made their way to the scoreboard first after only two minutes of action. Amanda Weber scored unassisted, she closed out the evening being the scoring leader for the Lions with a total of five goals.

Cypress Levitt (Calais, Vt./Montpelier), who finished with a season high of three goals retaliated less than a minute after locking the score 1-1. But Molloy took the lead back after going back-to-back on goals. This allowed New Haven's offense, driven by Annie Acquavita (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire), Marina Skelly (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot), and Antler, to end the quarter with three goals and close out the first fifteen minutes of play ahead by one.

Antler's goal in New Haven's 3-0 run was just one of her six throughout the 60 minutes of play. Not only was this a career high for her, but it's the most goals scored in a single game for a given player on the Charger's roster. The only other to do so was Raegan Bailey's (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) who started her collegiate career scoring six goals in the 2022 season premiere at Jefferson.

The score was even five times throughout the course of the night. But after being locked 7-7, New Haven gained a two-point lead and never looked back.

To start the final quarter, the Chargers had a 14-10 advantage after Skelly scored with 0:32 left in the third quarter, her fourth of the night. Their four goal advantage was cut to three when Molloy scored at 13:42 remaining in the game, but the Chargers went on a six-goal run and held the Lions scoreless up until 0:42. Alexa Amorison, who had three goals on the night slipped one past Gabby Buscemi (East Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) ending regulation 21-12 in favor of New Haven.

Buscemi faced 29 shots, and had a total of 11 saves. Four of Molloy's goals were a result of free position attempts.
