WEST HAVEN, Conn. – After a week of rest and a chance to regroup ahead of the final stretch of the season, the University of New Haven Women's Soccer Team returned to action at Kathy Zolad Stadium as they took on the Lions of Molloy University in a non-conference match up.
 

The Chargers went on the attack early earning the first corner of the match looking to strike early as Caitlin Toom had a look at net forcing a save by the Lions keeper. After a half-hour of level play it was the Lions that broke through first in the 36 minute taking the early lead in the half. Caitlin Daley (Norwich, Conn./Norwich Free Academy) in the first half had five saves on nine shots. Out of the break the Lions were able to score a pair of goals before Macy Litalien (Fitchburg, Mass./Oakmont Regional) and New Haven broke through. Janayah Body (West Hartford, Conn./Lawrence Academy) who came on at the half put pressure on the Lions defense and in the 51 minute Body was able to connect with Litalien to finish her second goal of the year and put New Haven on the board. Before the final whistle, the Lions finished a fourth goal making it a 4-1 final for Molloy. Caitlin Daley (Norwich, Conn./Norwich Free Academy) finished with ten saves on 14 shots from the Lions. Macy Litalien (Fitchburg, Mass./Oakmont Regional) netted the Chargers lone goal in the match.

With the rest of the season being conference play for the blue and gold, New Haven travels to Worcester to take on the Greyhounds of Assumption University on Sunday October 15 with kickoff at 12:00pm.
