Field Hockey Drops 4-1 Match at Saint Anselm

Manchester, N.H- The Chargers headed to Manchester to take on the Saint Anselm Hawks, standing at No. 2 in the Northeast-10 conference rankings on Saturday afternoon. Kat Trammel (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown) and Emma Beaujouan (Concord, N.H./Concord) combining for New Haven's lone goal on the day, as they fell 4-1.

The Hawks took control of the game early, getting on the board quickly in the first few minutes of play. From then on the pace of the game would be controlled by Saint Anselm, finding a goal in every quarter aside from the third.

Throughout the game the Chargers found multiple offensive opportunities throughout the 60 minutes of play. Despite the attempt by Saint Anselm to force a shutout, New Haven would find the backboard in the last two minutes of play. Senior  Kat Trammel (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown) the goal scoring, finding her seventh goal of the season. Freshman Emma Beaujouan (Concord, N.H./Concord) setting up the goal and grabbing the assist, her third of her career.  

New Haven would find a total of seven shots on the afternoon, five making their way on goal. Emma Beaujouan (Concord, N.H./Concord) leading the way for the Chargers offensively with two shots, both forcing saves from the Saint Anselm's goalkeeper. Johannah Lee (State College, Pa./State College Area) found two shots throughout the game, followed by Kat Trammel (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newtown) with one.

The Chargers saw all three of their goalkeepers get time in goal, tallying up nine saves, on a total of 21 shots from the Hawks, 13 of which forced saves from the keepers. Ally Saigh (Grosse Point Woods, Mich./Grosse Point North) collecting the most minutes in goal for the blue and gold, with seven saves.

Looking forward, the Chargers will head on the road once again, taking on the Setters of Pace University. That game is set to take place on Wednesday, October 18th with a start time of 4:00 p.m.
