FULL RESULTS
LONGMEADOW, Mass. – In its final event of the fall season, the New Haven men's golf team posted a seventh place finish in the 2023 Northeast-10 Conference Championship in just the second season since the program returned to varsity status.
Leading the Chargers in the three-round tournament was sophomore Aissa El Khadri (Torremolino, Spain/Sotogrande International School) who carded his best round of the season in the final round where he finished +2 73, wrapping up the two-day event with a +9 Â 222. He opened up the event with a four-over 75 before shaving one stroke off in round two.
Freshman Hermann Gavilan (/) followed El Kahadri in the number two position, finishing the event +16, also posting his best round over the final 18 holes where he finished +4, 75. Overall for the 54-hole tournament, Gavilan carded a 229 to finish tied for 23rd overall.
Rounding out the Chargers top three was freshman Frank Ferru who closed out the tournament 37th overall with a combined score of 240, which included matching El Khadri for the lowest single round for New Haven with a 73 in his opening 18. A pair of freshman, Aaron Browning (/) and Ben Rich (/), closed out the Chargers five with a 241 and 242, respectively.
The NE10 Championship rounds out a four-meet fall schedule for the Blue and Gold who will return to action in the Spring semester.
