Body Nets Second Goal in Consecutive Matches but Chargers Fall to Ravens

RINDGE, New Hampshire. – With the regular season almost over, the University of New Haven Women's Soccer team took to the road for their final road match of the season as they traveled to New Hampshire to take on the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University in a mid week match.

Off the bus the Chargers came out hot putting pressure on the Ravens early locking them in their own half. Just ten minutes into the match freshmen Jannayah Body found the back of the net for her second career and scored now in consecutive matches, having scored her first goal in the match against Southern New Hampshire University. With the lead New Haven played strong defensively as Caitlin Daley (Norwich, Conn./Norwich Free Academy) registered seven saves in the opening half. A half-hour into the match the Ravens were able to equalize and send the match level into the break. Out of the break the blue and gold came out strong again but the Ravens struck first taking their first lead of the match. The Chargers had their opportunities but the Ravens held strong turning New Havens attempts to equalize away. As the final whistle blew it was the Ravens coming out on top winning 2-1. Body netted her second goal of her career as Daley finished with 12 saves in the match.

With one match to go in the regular season, the Chargers return home to host the top seeded Golden Knights of Saint Rose College for a Saturday night match. The Chargers and Golden Knight kickoff from Kathy Zolad Stadium at 7:00 p.m. All updates, schedules, and post-game recaps for the team will be available at Newhavenchargers.com.
