WALTHAM, Mass. – With just two players racking up double figures, the New Haven men's basketball team dropped its Northeast-10 opener 79-60 at the hands of the Bentley Falcons on Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center. With the loss, New Haven drops to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the Northeast-10.

Leading all Charger scorers on the day was junior transfer Keith Warren (Rochester, N.Y./McQuaid Jesuit) who finished his first double digit day with 15 points, connecting on 6-of-12 from the field, including 3-of-6 from beyond the three point arc, all of that coming in 18 minutes of action off the bench.

Overall, Warren was one of two players in double figures for the Chargers with senior Davontey Thomas joining him with 10 points, also connecting on half of his field goal attempts as he finished 4-of-8 overall, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Following that duo in the scoring column were a pair of starters in junior Justin Hendrick (Valley Stream, N.Y./St. Francis) and freshman Jah'Likai King (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) who each finished with eight points. As a team, New Haven closed out the game shooting 26-of-59 from the field, with the five three pointers combined between Warren and Thomas accounting for all but one of the long range baskets, with the other coming from Jojo Lingisi-Ombongo (Hamilton, Ontario/St. Thomas More).

For the third time this season, the Chargers also dropped the battle of the boards, this time around by a 35-26 margin. Leading the way for the Chargers was sophomore Ethan Simmon (Edison, N.J./St. Joseph Metuchen) who finished with five boards. Hendrick also added a team-best four assists, while King led the way with a trio of steals.

After spending their first four games on the road, the Chargers will make their home debut next time they take the court, welcoming the Pace Setters to West Haven on Tuesday, November 21 ahead of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Opening tip against the Setters is slated for 7:00 p.m. at the Jeffery P. Hazell Athletic Center.
