WHAT'S ON TAP
For the first time this season, the New Haven women's basketball team will make its debut in West Haven as they welcome the Pace Setters to the Jeffery P. Hazell Athletic Center on Tuesday. New Haven looks to bounce back from its first loss of the season, while the Setters look to remain one of six unbeaten teams in the NE10.

SCOUTING NEW HAVEN
Sophomore Lindsay Hogan (Bayville, N.Y./Locust Valley) has filled the void left by the loss of two of the top three scorers from a year ago as she averaged 20.0 points across the three-games to start the year, including a career-high 30 points in the season opener against Wilmington. Graduate student Aurora Deshaies (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) has also picked up where she left off last season, averaging a double double through the first three games, one of four players in the NE10 to average a double double with 16.0 points and 11.0 rebounds to her credit. The addition of transfers Makaela Johnson (Hamden, Conn./Hamden) (Saint Rose) and Nayeli Dowding (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) (Hartford) has also paid off for the Chargers with Johnson averaging 9.7 points and 7.0 rebounds, while Dowding is adding 9.0 points per game. In the backcourt, fifth-year head coach Debbie Buff turned to the experience of senior Gabrielle Stickle (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) to run the offense and she hasn't disappointed as she has dished out 15 assists, fourth most in the NE10, including a career-high eight in the win over Goldey-Beacom. Despite the loss in the last game, New Haven has outscored opponents by an average of 25.7 points per game, scoring 80+ in the first two games of the season, after hitting that scoring mark just once all of last season. All combined, the Chargers are shooting 46.6 percent (83-178) as a team, led by Hogan who is shooting 60 percent from the field (22-37).

SCOUTING PACE
One of six teams to win their opening NE10 game last week and one of three league teams who are undefeated on the season, Pace enters Tuesday night's game outscoring their opponents by five points per game, shooting 38.6 percent from the field. The one area in which the Setters are being outdone by their opponents is on the boards where they are averaging just shy of two rebounds than their opponents, pulling down a total of 33.7 rebounds per game. Individually, two Setters are averaging double figures on the season with Tower Lorde leading the team in scoring (12.0 ppg) and rebounding (6.3 rpg), while shooting 9-of-18 from the field but capitalizing at the free throw line where she is 18-25. Next up in the scoring column is Arianna Stockinger who is averaging 11.0 points per game. Also among the scoring threats for the Setters is Morgan Ryan who is currently fifth on the team at 8.3 ppg, with seven of her nine field goals coming from outside the three-point arc.

SERIES HISTORY vs PACE

·        New Haven and Pace meet for the 41st time in the history of the two programs, which has been dominated by the Setters.

·        Pace holds a 29-11 record in the previous 40 games, including a stretch where they won 18-of-19 games.

·        After the Setters swept the home-and-home series two seasons ago, New Haven took the lone matchup last year which came at Charger Gym.

NEXT TIME OUT
New Haven will once again take some time before returning to the court, this time waiting eight days before they return to action after the Thanksgiving Holiday to host the Assumption Greyhounds on Wednesday, November 29. The road game at Laska Gymnasium is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. as the front end of a doubleheader with the men's team. All of the action in the NE10 battle will be available on NE10Now.tv.
