WEST HAVEN, CONN. -- The University of New Haven Varsity Esports team is joining the East Coast Conference for the Spring 2024 semester.

New Haven is the 15th member to join the ECC, as the program joins as an associate member. 

UNH Esports hopes to compete in all titles that ECC offers: Overwatch 2, League of Legends, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Rocket League, and Valorant.

"The University of New Haven is extremely excited to be joining the East Coast Conference," said Rob Holub, Director of Esports. "We felt the growth of the conference, the strength of other member institutions, and the overall level of competition were major factors in our decision to join."

The ECC will be the Chargers' fourth conference, in addition to NACE, NECC, and CECC.

ECC is currently in its sixth season as a conference.
