WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Graduate guard Tyler Saint-Furcy (Inwood, N.Y./Lawrence Woodmere Academy) led a trio of Chargers, matching his career-high with 20 points, as the men's basketball team took it down to the wire in a 64-58 home loss to the Southern New Hampshire Penmen on Saturday at the Jeffery P. Hazell Athletic Center.
Saint-Furcy had a hot hand right out of the gate for the Chargers putting up an early eight points before ending the night with 20, matching his previous best which came against Iona on February 26, 2020. Saint-Furcy finished the evening shooting 8-of-14 from the field, with three of those coming on six attempts from outside the three point arc. He also led the team with seven rebounds as the Chargers dropped the rebounding battle 41-33.
Joining Saint-Furcy in leading the team was senior Davontrey Thomas (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie) and Keith Warren (Rochester, N.Y./McQuaid Jesuit) who finished with 15 and 10 points, respectively. Also among the highlights on the night was Jojo Lingisi-Ombongo (Hamilton, Ontario/St. Thomas More) who fished out eight assists, of 11 total for the team, which follows up an nine assist outing last time out at Assumption.
As a team, New Haven finished the night shooting 38.6 percent from the field, connecting on 22-of-57 total field goal attempts, with 10 of those coming from long range.
New Haven will conclude a stretch of three-straight NE10 games when they welcome the Adelphi Panthers to West Haven for the second of three-straight home games.
