Big Offensive Day Helps Lifts Chargers Over Molloy 11-5

Uniondale, N.Y- The University of New Haven baseball team improved their record to 12-3 in a 11-5 win over the Molloy Lions on Wednesday afternoon. Four different Chargers all collected multiple hits apiece to bring the Chargers to victory.

The Chargers broke through with the game's first runs in the top of the first inning. A double from Andrew Cain (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) lead off the offensive for the Chargers, Owen Pincince (North Haven, Conn./North Haven) bringing in the first run on a line drive single before the side was retired.

On the mound, Liam Carroll (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) earned another win, going 5 innings, allowing two hits and zeros runs while striking out two and walking zero. Carroll let up a double in the first but was able to keep the Lions to nothing throughout the first inning. Carroll was able to shutout the Lions all through his five innings on the mound.

Bats continued to stay hot for the Chargers, bringing in the second run on a sacrifice fly to right field. Robert Taylor (Wolcott, Conn./The Gunnery) would go yard giving New Haven a four-run lead. Owen Pincince (North Haven, Conn./North Haven) with a triple to left field and a double from Zach Pincince would give the Chargers three more insurance runs.

Molloy would find their first run of the game in the bottom of the sixth. New Haven would balance off those runs with some more of their own. Andrew Bianco (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) with a double and Cole Maucere (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) would cap off the Chargers bats with a lead of six, with a score of 11-5.

Liam Carroll (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) would grab his fourth win of the season with this game. Randy Ramnarace (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood), Tyler Sausville (Schenectady, N.Y./Colonie Central), and Drew Silverman (Commack, N.Y./Commack) all put in work in relief out of the bullpen to keep New Haven ahead of the Chargers.

Zach Pincince led the Chargers once again going 3-for-5 at the plate to lead New Haven in hits. Owen Pincince (North Haven, Conn./North Haven), Andrew Cain (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford), and Robert Taylor (Wolcott, Conn./The Gunnery) all collected multiples hits for the Chargers. Andrew Bianco (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) also drove in two RBIS on the afternoon.

The Chargers will stay in West Haven this weekend for their first series at home against the Panthers of Adelphi. The first doubleheader will take place on Friday, March 24th with a first pitch scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
