MANCHESTER, N.H. –
Led by senior Quashawn Lane's (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic Academy) fifth 20+ game of the season, the New Haven men's basketball team saw its quest for a Northeast-10 Conference Championship spoiled on Saturday evening at the hands of the second seeded Saint Anselm Hawks.

With the loss, New Haven falls to 20-10 on the season and will await the announcement of the NCAA Division II Playoff field for a potential at-large bid. The NCAA selection show is scheduled for 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 5 and can be seen live on NCAA.com. The NCAA field will be made up of eight regions with eight teams per region selected. The top seed in each region will serve as host for the four-day event that begins on Saturday, March 11.

Lane's 21 points against the Hawks came on a fifty percent shooting effort, connecting on 7-of-14 from the field, while also going 6-of-7 at the free throw line. He also added four assists and three rebounds to his credit. Joining him in leading the Chargers offense was senior transfer guard Ty Perry (Boston, Mass./Brighton) who closed out the night with 19 points, going 8-of-17 from the field with five rebounds.

Two other players in the starting five added into the scoring column with Davontrey Thomas (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Poughkeepsie) finishing with eight points and Victor Olawoye (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont Memorial High School) who finished with two points. Rounding out the New Haven scoring was Kendall McMillan (Columbia, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) who added four points off the bench.

As a team, New Haven finished the game shooting 43.8 percent from the field, connecting on 21-of-48 overall, including 6-of-15 from beyond the three point arc. Lane's six points at the line were the only for New Haven as they finished 6-of-9 overall.
