Albany, N.Y- The blue and gold headed over to Albany for a three-game series versus the Golden Knights of Saint Rose, first with a single night game on Thursday and a doubleheader on Friday afternoon. The Chargers took one loss out of the three-game series during the first game on the double-header but bounced back to go two-out of three on the trip.

Thursday, April 27th

New Haven 9, Saint Rose 7

The Chargers got out to a seven-run lead in the second inning and held on for a 9-7 victory over St. Rose under the lights, despite a seven-run comeback from the Golden Knights.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. New Haven got things moving in the first inning, when Tyler Wells (Danville, Vt./St. Johnsbury Academy) drew a walk, scoring one run. Matt McIntire (Williamston, N.J./Williamstown) coming up to the plate, found himself an RBI on a sacrifice fly to right field bringing in another. The Golden Knights would find their first run of the game off an error and would remain at that one run until the bottom of the fifth.

A comeback effort from Saint Rose fell in the bottom of the fifth, minimizing the Chargers eight run lead to four. Saint Rose would find two more before the Chargers would find their last and final run on a bases loaded walk scoring one.

Izaiya Mestre (Pittsfield, Mass./Taconic) started on the mound for the Chargers, going four and a third innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out four. Bryan Pazulski (Media, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) would grab the win for the Chargers on the mound, pitching a little over two innings allowing five hits, three runs, and gathering three strikeouts. Kyle Allen (Middle Island, N.Y./Longwood) would come in to put in work in relief out of the bullpen, but Drew Silverman (Commack, N.Y./Commack) would get the last three outs of the game, giving him another save this season.
