FULL ARLINGTON RENEGADES RELEASE

ARLINGTON, Texas –
Two-year University of New Haven quarterback Connor Degenhardt (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) had his number called on Friday when he was picked up by the Arlington Renegades in the 2023 XFL Rookie Draft. Overall, Degenhardt was one of 10 selections made by the Renegades, however he is the lone quarterback and the lone Division II selection for the reigning XFL Champions coached by legendary head coach Bob Stoops.

"We are excited by the class of players selected in the 2023 Rookie Draft," said Stoops. "We will continue building our roster this offseason as we look to defend our XFL Championship in 2024.

In order to be eligible for today's draft, players must have been 1) eligible for the 2023 NFL Draft and 2) not under contract by a professional football team. Drafted will be placed on XFL rosters with players who finished the 2023 season on active and reserve lists. XFL teams will hold exclusive rights with the players they selected.

Degenhardt, who transferred to New Haven from Division I Holy Cross, spent two seasons on the Blue & Gold turf of Ralph F. DellaCamera Stadium, helping lead the Chargers to an 18-5 record, a pair of NCAA playoff appearances and a Northeast-10 Conference Championship in 2021.

In his two seasons at New Haven, Degenhardt threw for 3,907 yards and was responsible for 62 touchdowns, throwing 43 and rushing for 19. All three of his touchdown numbers rank among the top-10 in program history with the 43 passing touchdowns tied for eight most, his 19 rushing touchdowns seventh most in school history and his 62 total scores are second among all players, with Harlon Hill Trophy honoree Roger Graham leading all players in program history with 70 touchdowns (66 rushing, 3 receiving, 1 return).
