WEST HAVEN, Conn – After a three-match road stand, the University of New Haven Women's Soccer team returned home to Kathy Zolad Stadium and to conference play for Homecoming, New Haven looked to sweep the Yellowjackets of American International College.

New Haven started strong and had pressure on AIC early having their best look come from the right wing as Janayah Body (West Hartford, Conn./Lawrence Academy) made an overlapping run to attack and drive into the 18-yard box. Body got a shot off but was denied of a goal by AIC. Going into the half both teams were level as Caitlin Daley (Norwich, Conn./Norwich Free Academy) made five saves in the first half to keep the match level. In the second AIC built their attack and off a corner kick, beat Daley and a back post run to find the back of the net and go up 1-0 for AIC. New Haven would pressure late but would not be able to find the back of the net as they would fall 1-0 to AIC. Daley finished with eight saves as Body and Vickie Fleming (Burlington, Conn./Lewis Mills) each had shots on for New Haven in the match. 

New Haven returns to Kathy Zolad Stadium for a mid-meek conference match up against the Setters of Pace University. The Chargers and Setters kick off on Wednesday, October 9 with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 PM on the Charger Sports Network on FloSports.
