CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After wrapping up the 2024 season in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs this past weekend, the University of New Haven was well represented in the New England Football Writers Association All-New England Team which was released by the organization on Monday.
Representing the Chargers was defensive lineman Jack Quander (Gainsville, Va./Patriot), defensive back Jalen Fisher (Pasadena, Calif./Chaminade College Prep), running back Christopher Ais (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton), offensive lineman Justin Cesaire (Orange, N.J./Orange), kickoff return specialist Kha'lil Eason (Norwalk, Conn./Brunswick School) and punt return specialist Logan Schmidt (Carlise, Pa./Big Spring). Overall, the six Chargers were part of 31 players honored, representing 17 schools from the six New England Division II and III football playing conference. The six players from New Haven were also part of 11 total from the Northeast-10, the most from a single conference.
The 2024 NEFW All-New England Team will be honored as part of the NEFW Captains and Awards Banquet on Thursday, December 12 at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel and Conference Center.
Overall, New Haven wrapped up its 2024 campaign with an 8-3 overall record, a second-straight, and sixth overall, Northeast-10 Conference Championship and a fourth-straight berth in the NCAA Division II playoffs, becoming just one of five teams, and the only private school, to earn a spot in the playoffs in each of the last four seasons.
