FULL RESULTS
ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of New Haven men's golf team opened up its four-match spring schedule at the Saint Anselm Florida Invitational at the Eagle Creek Golf Club. Overall, the Chargers finished the 36-hole event fourth out of four teams competing.
Despite the fourth place finish as a team, individually the Chargers placed two in the top-three finishers with sophomore Aissa El Khadri (Kingdom of Morocco/Sotogrande International School) closing out the two-day event with an even par 144 to finish as the runner-up and freshman Hermann Gavilan (/) four strokes behind him to take third place in the field of 23 golfers. Eckerd College's Josh DiZinno took medal honors with a four-under par 140.
Rounding out the top-three for New Haven was freshman Frank Ferru who finished 20th overall with a two-round 167, while Tyler Pickman (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) and Aaron Browning (/) finished tied for 22nd overall with a two-day total of 176.
The Chargers will return to the course next weekend when they head to Candia, N.H. to participate in the Saint Anselm Hawk Invitational at the Candia Woods Golf Links.
