ALBANY, N.Y. – A shutout third quarter for the New Haven women's lacrosse team was part of a nine-goal rally as they picked up a road win over the Saint Rose Golden Knights 16-5 at the Plumeri Sports Complex. With the win, the third straight for New Haven, improves the Blue and Gold to 8-4 on the season, 5-2 in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Senior midfielder Ivanna Hernandez (Bay Shore, N.Y./Brentwood) scored the opening goal of the game just 68 seconds into the action and went on to lead the Chargers on the afternoon with five points spread across three goals and two assists. Overall, Hernandez was one of three Chargers to finished with a hat trick, joined by graduate students Cameryn Antler (Hebron, Conn./Mercy) and Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug).

All combined, nine different players accounted for the 16 New Haven goals with the only other to join that trio with multiple goals being grad transfer Alyssa Wahl (British Columbia, Canada/Ecole Riverside Secondary). Cypress Levitt (Calais, Vt./Montpelier), Caitlin Seleny (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton), Lindsey Belmonte (Yaphank, N.Y./Bellport), Kyra Sparks (Jefferson, N.J./Jefferson Township) and Helenda Dunwoody rounded out the Chargers scoring. In addition to Hernandez's two assists, Dunwoody added the only other as she wrapped up the game with two points.

For the third-straight game the Chargers excelled on the draw, outmatching the Golden Knights 16-8 in that column. Leading the way was Schenk with five and Levitt with four, while Dunwoody finished with three.

Between the pipes, senior Gabby Buscemi (East Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) played all but two minutes in the game, with classmate Fabi McLeod (Concord, N.H./Cheshire Academy) closing the game. Buscemi closed out the game with six saves while earning the victory. Their counterpart for the Golden Knights finished her day with 16 saves as New Haven outshot Saint Rose 37-17.
