WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Coming off one of the best careers for a New Haven tight end, Kevin Foelsch (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) has extended his playing career, signing an Undrafted Free Agency (UDFA) contract with the Carolina Panthers on Saturday following the conclusion of the 2024 NFL Draft. Foelsch is the first Charger to sign a UDFA contract since 2017 when offensive lineman Zach Voytek signed with the Buffalo Bills.
Foelsch wrapped up his career at New Haven with 660 yards on 73 receptions with 16 touchdowns. A Northeast-10 Conference First Team selection this past fall, Foelsch finished with a career-high seven touchdowns and 318 yards with his seven TD's and 32 catches second most on the team and his 318 receiving yards third most on the team. Overall, he averaged 9.94 yards per catch and 28.91 yards per game.
The Panthers are coming off of a 2023 season where they finished 2-15 in the NFC South and welcomed Dave Canales as the seventh head coach in franchise history this past January. Canales came to Carolina after spending the 2023 season as the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Carolina will play a nine-game home scheduled in 2024.
