FULL LIST OF NIRA ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS
WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Following the completion of the third season in program history, a half dozen women's rugby players secured All-Academic accolades as announced by the National Intercollegiate Women's Rugby Association (NIRA). Earning the distinction for the Chargers was Megan Aronoff (Raynham, Mass./Bridgewater Raynham Regional), Alexis Byrne (Belmar, N.J./Manasquan), Ella Nenoff (Colden, N.Y./Orchard Park), Kyla Roy (Easthampton, Mass./Easthampton), Ashleigh Siciliano (Groton, Mass./) and Emily Tippelmann (Stamford, Conn./Stamford).
The award, which honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher as a sophomore or above, was presented to more than 220 individuals across 23 institutions, with the 223 total honors equaling more than 25% of all student-athletes competing in women's rugby throughout the 2023-24 academic year.
All combined, the women's rugby team posted a combined grade point average of 2.88 across the academic year. Following the fall 2023 semester 11 Chargers were named to the New Haven Dean's List, while seven earned the distinction following the spring 2024 semester. Additionally, graduate student Gelleenna Altman (New Bern, N.C./) completed the spring semester with a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
