FULL WALTER CAMP FOOTBALL FOUNDATION RELEASE
WEST HAVEN, Conn. – For the first time in the history of the organization, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced its Division II All-America Team with New Haven junior return specialist Kha'lil Eason (Norwalk, Conn./Brunswick School) adding a third All-America line to his resume adding this distinction to Division II Conference Commissioner's Association and Don Hansen All-America nods previously announced.
Eason, who is the top return specialist in all of NCAA Division II, adds this honor to All-Region, All-New England and NE10 All-Conference First Team accolades. Additionally, the Norwalk, Conn. native was a nominee for the Harlon Hill Trophy which recognizes the Division II Player of the Year and was selected by the New England Football Writers as the Gold Helmet Recipient, NE10 Player of the Week and National Player of the Week following the week two win over Pace.
For the season, Eason attempted 16 returns and racked up 649 yards averaging 40.6 yards per return with three of those returned to the house for touchdowns. Two of his touchdown returns came in the week two win over Pace when he sprinted 96 and 94 yards, respectively, setting a New Haven single game record for touchdown returns.
Overall, he holds a pair of school records, setting one as a sophomore in 2023 when he collected 236 total return yards in a single game which came in the NCAA playoffs against Charleston. He also finished the Pace game with 231 yards just shy of school record. For his career, Eason has 1,360 return yards, surpassing the 1,000 plateau earlier this season against Bentley.
Eason and the Chargers wrapped up the 2024 campaign with an 8-3 overall record, a second-straight, and sixth overall, Northeast-10 Conference Championship and a fourth-straight berth in the NCAA Division II playoffs, becoming just one of five teams, and the only private school, to earn a spot in the playoffs in each of the last four seasons.
