WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The NEC has announced its weekly football accolades, and AJ Duffy (St. Augustine, Fla./Rancho Verde) has earned the NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Offensive Player of the Week after his first Charger debut at Marist this past Friday.
Duffy completed 31 passes for 377 yards and two touchdowns. Duffy tossed the Chargers' first-ever Division I touchdown from five yards out to Evan Chieca (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst). Later in the game, he completed a 21-yard touchdown pass to Logan Schmidt (Carlisle, Pa./Big Spring) to score the Chargers' second touchdown of the night.
New Haven will travel to Northwest Pennsylvania to face Mercyhurst on Saturday, Sept. 6, looking for its first win. Kickoff is slated for 12:00 p.m.
