WORCESTER, Mass. – New Haven Volleyball faced the Holy Cross Crusaders on Tuesday night, where it lost 3-1.
The Chargers came out strong and won the first set, 25-18. But the Crusaders overcame the Chargers in the next three sets. There were big performances from
Lauren MacKellar (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./Northville), who had 10 kills and a block,
Kassadi Avent (Woolwich, NJ), who had 10 kills, and
Naliah Grannell (Hamden, Conn./Hamden), who had four kills and three blocks.
Caroline Johnston (Noelnsville, TN) had 18 assists and an ace, and
Juli De Acharan (Sevilla, Spain/IES Nestor Almendros) also contributed 15 assists and two aces.
Payton Malinoski (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) anchored the back row with 28 digs.
The Chargers are back at home on Wednesday, Oct. 22
nd, at 6:00 p.m. for their Pink Game against Binghamton University.
