BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – New Haven Football hit the road for a matchup with the LIU Sharks on Saturday afternoon. The Blue & Gold fell to 4-4 following a 38-16 loss.
After being held off the scoreboard in the first quarter, New Haven responded with a 16-point second frame, featuring a safety courtesy of
Luke Kelley (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) to get the Chargers on the board, a 28-yard touchdown connection between
AJ Duffy (St. Augustine, Fla./Rancho Verde) and
Logan Schmidt (Carlisle, Pa./Big Spring), and a
Brodie Williams (West Memphis, Ark./Academies of Jonesboro High School) pick-six.
The Chargers' defense held LIU to just 10 second-half points, but LIU's defense stifled New Haven outside of the second quarter.
New Haven closes out its road schedule with a short drive to Sacred Heart on Saturday, Nov. 1. Opening kickoff is slated for 12:00 p.m.
