WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Men's Soccer earned a 2-1 come-from-behind win on Sunday night over rival Central Connecticut State University. Second-half goals from
Lukian Lawro (Albertson, N.Y./Mineola) and
Andrew Buchanan (Dunfermline/Nord Østerdal VGS) powered the Blue & Gold to the win.
New Haven converted on both of its shots on goal. Joao Pires provided a spark off the bench, setting up both goals for the Chargers.
Felipe Lemos (Ponte de Barca, Viana do Castelo, Portugal/Escola Secundária de Ponte da Barca) also picked up an assist in the match.
Alessandro Bizzini (Imola Bologna, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Valeriani) recorded three saves in the match.
New Haven visits Yale on Tuesday night for the Battle of West Haven, with the opening kickoff coming at 6:00 p.m.
