NEW HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Men's Soccer matched up against its neighbor Yale University on Tuesday night, coming out of the Battle of New Haven with a 2-1 loss.
Andrew Miranda (Chicago, Ill./IMG Academy) opened the scoring just 66 seconds into the match with a goal coming off a corner. Miranda's one-timer from just outside the top of the box found room in the bottom right corner to give the Blue & Gold a 1-0 lead.
The Bulldogs tied the match and went ahead later in the first half.
Shane Antao (New Hyde Park, N.Y./New Hyde Park Memorial) started in net for New Haven, playing the first half before giving way to
Alessandro Bizzini (Imola Bologna, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Valeriani), who played the final 45 minutes.
New Haven travels to Stonehill College on Thursday, Oct. 9, to resume NEC play. Opening kickoff is slated for 3:00 p.m.
