WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Women's Volleyball celebrated its seniors and played its second match against the Le Moyne Dolphins on Saturday afternoon, where it won 3-1.
The Chargers recognized the class of 2026, which included
Sofia Kamke (Santa Catarina, Brazil/Escola Tecnica do Vale do Itajai),
Evelyn Kay Girard (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich Academy),
Naliah Grannell (Hamden, Conn./Hamden), and
Juli De Acharan (Sevilla, Spain/IES Nestor Almendros).
New Haven wanted to continue its win streak and started out strong, winning the first set 25-18. The Dolphins were not going down without a fight, taking the second set 25-15. But the Chargers won the third and fourth set, sweeping the weekend double-header.
Lauren MacKellar (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./Northville) had 18 kills and six digs.
Victoria Trunkl (Sao Jose Dos Campos, Sau Paulo, Brazil) also contributed 10 kills.
Juli De Acharan (Sevilla, Spain/IES Nestor Almendros) had three service aces, 35 assists and 13 digs.
Naliah Grannell (Hamden, Conn./Hamden),
Josie Foster (Kurwongbah, Australia), and
Kassadi Avent (Woolwich, NJ) all had a block.
The Chargers are finishing out the 2025 season at Central Connecticut for the weekend, starting on Friday, Nov. 7
th. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
