WEST HAVEN, Conn. – New Haven Men's Basketball hosted Mitchell College on Sunday afternoon, returning from the Thanksgiving holiday with a 92-69 win over the Mariners.
The Mariners raced out to an early lead, but New Haven recovered, finishing the first half with a 17-point lead, 54-37.
Andre Pasha's (Syracuse, N.Y./Syracuse Academy of Science) 12 first-half points led New Haven in the opening 20 minutes. He also pulled down five boards, one behind
Teshaun Steele (Worcester, Mass./Darrow School) for the team lead in the first.
Kheni Briggs (Kennapolis, N.C./The Burlington School) finished with a team-high 16, followed closely by Pasha and
Stefano Faloppa (Portogruaro, Italy/Holy Cross Prep) (14 each).
Steele's nine rebounds were a game-high, with seven from Faloppa and six from Pasha rounding out the Chargers' top three.
Steele also dished out a game-high five assists.
New Haven returns to action on Saturday, December 6, at Boston College. Opening tipoff between New Haven and Boston College is slated for 12:00 p.m.
